Protect cashflow
Keep money free for fit-out, launch marketing, staffing and the quiet early weeks.
Leasing can be the difference between opening strong and opening broke. We’ll talk through whether paying outright or spreading the cost makes more sense for your tanning salon.
Fit-out, power work, launch content, retail stock and survival cash all compete with the equipment invoice. Finance options exist so the business can still breathe.
We’ll be straight with you: leasing isn’t always the answer. On the consultation we’ll look at your room, timeline and cash position first.
Keep money free for fit-out, launch marketing, staffing and the quiet early weeks.
Spread cost over a term that fits how a salon actually earns — not one painful lump sum.
When the term ends, you can look at newer models instead of being stuck with yesterday’s kit.
Monthly payments are often easier to treat as a trading expense than a huge capital hit.
We’ll outline equipment options and talk through finance routes that fit — alongside lead times and install planning.
Finance spreads the cost of tanning equipment over a fixed term, so a tanning salon can open or upgrade with premium sunbeds on the floor and cash still in the bank for the fit-out, tanning lotions, staff and marketing. You choose the sunbeds, a finance provider pays for them, and the business makes a fixed monthly payment while customers tan and the beds earn.
With J Solutions, finance starts from £220 + VAT per month, subject to status, equipment value and finance approval. It is available on both new and professionally reconditioned sunbeds from megaSun, Ergoline, Luxura and J Sunbeds, and we wrap delivery, installation, commissioning and staff training around it. You deal with one supplier from first call to opening day.
We look at your room, electrics and target customer, then shortlist models. See commercial sunbed prices for the starting points.
A short application with your business details. New start tanning businesses can apply as well as established salons; approval is subject to status.
Once approved, we schedule delivery and installation. Payments run monthly while the sunbed generates revenue.
Tanning salon owners tend to use leasing, sunbed hire and rental to mean the same thing. They are different, and the difference matters when you compare quotes for commercial sunbeds from one rental company against another.
| Finance agreement | Hire or rental | Pay outright | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | Low | Low | Full price |
| Monthly cost | Fixed, for a set term | Ongoing for as long as you keep the bed | None |
| Choice of equipment | Any new or reconditioned model | Usually whichever sunbeds the rental company has available | Any model |
| At the end | Options depend on the agreement | The sunbed goes back | You own it and can part exchange it |
| Best for | Opening or upgrading with premium kit | Short-term or trial capacity | Salons with capital to invest |
Many of our customers mix the three over time. megaTan Lounge moved an existing bed into a new site and part exchanged it six months later, and Glow Tanning & Beauty part exchanged four older sunbeds against two new megaSun units.
Finance is available across our range of commercial sunbeds: lay down tanning beds and vertical stand up units, new or professionally reconditioned, from megaSun, Ergoline, Luxura and J Sunbeds. Commercial lay down sunbeds start from £10,500 + VAT to purchase and stand ups from £5,000 + VAT, so spreading the cost is how most new tanning salons put premium equipment on the floor from day one.
Reconditioned sunbeds deserve a mention. A professionally reconditioned premium bed on finance often costs less per month than a basic new one, and gives your customers a far better tan and tanning experience. See reconditioned commercial sunbeds.
Short-term sunbed hire suits a pop-up, a seasonal peak or testing demand in a gym or beauty salon. For a permanent tanning salon, hire charges usually overtake the cost of finance within the first couple of years.
If you have the capital and the salon is established, paying outright is the cheapest route overall, and the sunbeds keep a part exchange value.
Opening a new salon, adding a premium room, or replacing an unreliable sunbed without draining the business. Your tanning customers see the upgrade straight away; you pay for it as it earns.
Before you sign any agreement for tanning equipment, ask exactly what the monthly figure covers. These are the points that cause problems for salons later.
How many months, the total payable, and what happens at the end of the term. Ask for it in writing.
Who attends when there is a fault, and how fast. We aim to respond to enquiries within 12 hours, with engineers typically attending in 3-5 working days, subject to location and parts.
Sunbed lamps (tubes) and acrylics are consumables. Check whether replacements are included or charged separately, and at what hours they are due.
Most commercial sunbeds need a 3-phase supply, a rotary isolator per unit and proper ventilation. See the room and electrical guide.
With J Solutions, finance on a commercial sunbed starts from £220 + VAT per month, subject to status, equipment value and finance approval. The monthly figure depends on the model, whether it is new or reconditioned, and the length of the term.
Yes. New start salons can apply as well as established tanning businesses. Approval is subject to status, so it helps to have a clear plan for the premises, the number of beds and your opening date. We can talk you through it on a free consultation.
Paying outright costs less in total if you have the capital. Finance protects cashflow, lets you open with better tanning equipment than you could afford for cash, and keeps money free for the rest of the launch. Many tanning salons finance their premium sunbeds and part exchange others as the business grows.
A finance agreement is for a fixed term on specific sunbeds you have chosen. Hire or rental is usually open-ended, uses whatever the rental company has available, and the sunbeds go back when you stop paying. Rental suits short-term capacity; finance suits a tanning salon building its permanent lineup.
Yes. Both new and professionally reconditioned commercial sunbeds are available, including megaSun and Ergoline models. A reconditioned premium bed on finance is often the most cost-effective way to put a high-end machine on the salon floor.
